![]() ![]() Usually, I'm not one for quest plots in books, but this was really fun. The labyrinth itself was a really cool setting. It was just packed to the brim with these ancient stories that were made anew and revitalised for younger readers. Riordan weaves so much Green mythology into his book, such as Calypso, Icarus and his father, Daedalus, the One-Hundred Handed Ones and a lot more detail about the god, Pan. It just shows that he has a lot of respect in the readers he's writing for. What I like about Rick Riordan's writing is that he doesn't dilly-dally with the beginnings of the books, no chapter length re-cap of what's happened so far or crazy descriptions about everything we've heard before. This was an insane whirlwind of a book - so much happened and it all happened from the very beginning. I just continuously keep liking these books and it only makes me realise how much I missed with these books when I was younger - it's great reading them now, but I can imagine loving these when I was 13/14 years old. ![]() It'll twist your brain around and leave you thinking up is down and right is wrong.” It'll twist your brain around and leave you thinking up is down and right is wrong.” I just continuously keep liking these books a “Be careful of love. ![]()
